An {ontherun} Wedding Video

Because it’s a holiday week….
Because the wonderful month-long vacation that I began right before I got married is now drawing to a close…
Because I’m not quite ready to immerse myself back into the blogging world yet…
And because I am so in love with the work that has been done by 822 Weddings…
…that I just can’t help but share the highlight video they made for Evan and I… even though I know it’s a little self-indulgent.

But if you can’t be slightly self-indulgent about your own wedding, then when can you? {Please don’t say never}. I figure I will only get married once, and I might as well soak it up while I can. So while I don’t plan on sharing a minute-by-minute multiple part series on the wedding (not for lack of content…but for fear that I would drive the remaining 20 readers that I have away for good), I really just want to give you a little glimpse into our wedding day.
…and, of course, share a few more photos.
I promise after this the wedding madness will be over. Instead I will spend my days lamenting about how out of shape I am, how hard it is to start over with training, how the pain seems to have gone away but I still find myself not quite trusting my body…and yet, despite all that…how it feels so good to be able to run again that for now, I will take what I can get. Oh, and I suppose I’ll get back to actually reading blogs again too.
But that will all come later. When I’m back in Vermont, settling into real life, figuring out my future. THEN it will be time to stop thinking about all things wedding and start moving forward.
Real life can wait though. As for today, I plan on soaking up my last day of vacation with my family.
Oh – and if you ever find yourself in need of a videographer, I highly recommend 822 Weddings. We haven’t seen the full length wedding video yet, but if the highlight is any indication, I know we are going to be blown away.
You are TOTALLY allowed to be self-indulgent. I use my blog as kind of a journal/scrapbook of my life so I completely plan on writing like three or four recaps for all the different parts of my wedding (THIS WEEKEND!) so I can look back fondly on them in the future

This video is the best. THE BEST. I have NOT watched it more than once. I did NOT force Brian to watch it with me the second time. Your happiness is contagious, LB.

Omg! Is that where you got married?!?! My husband and I ate dinner there and said this would be a great place to have a wedding, in that pub area with the post and beam – loved it! I am from CT and long story short, was going to do the VT50, but they closed reg and I didn’t get in but we had already planned on going away. With three kids at home, we went up anyway and had dinner there and it was great. I just started reading your blog before you went on “vacation” and got married. Looking forward to reading more.

Yes! That’s awesome! We fell in love with the area in a similar way – just happened to visit the town, then saw the inn and barn and thought about how amazing it would be to have a wedding there. I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint

Thanks Erin! I will tell you – during moments of the worst stress about wedding planning and the budget, we almost decided to drop the videographer. It just seemed like a frivolous expense that we didn’t really need, you know? But the more we thought about it, the more committed we became to making it work. I love our photographs from the wedding, but they just can’t capture things the way a video can. Now that it’s all said and done, I am SO happy we decided to hire our videographer. I love that we have the ceremony, speeches, and overall feeling of the day preserved forever. I think it’s something we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives – even more than the photos.

Um…I love reading your blog and its health and fitness aspect but I have to agree with Ali on the Run, your wedding should have a step by step recap starting with, “I woke up that morning…” I am super excited and happy that you are a newlywed and that your wedding went off perfectly. I am also happy that your injury seems to be improving but anytime you want to post a pic or anything, I’m up for it.

Thanks Alexis! I’m sure there will be plenty more photos working their way into the blog in the future. I’ve also thought about blogging/writing about the weekend elsewhere, just so that I will have it for myself (and then putting the link somewhere so anyone else who is interested can read it – without annoying people who have no interest in weddings).
Amazing video and keepsake by 822 Weddings…it really seems to capture the emotions of the day. I so wish I had them 17 years ago when I got married. Thanks for sharing it with us Lauren, and I agree with an earlier comment…your happiness is contagious
