  1. I feel like that too and I’m just doing a half marathon and have to run 9 tomorrow.

  3. Just how many carbs is too many? I may be testing it out. I’m awesome at being under trained and over fueled! I am commenting from my bed as I watch a riveting episode of Say Yes To The Dress. This is the life! I’m glad I’m not the only one living the dream ;)

    • I’m pretty much convinced you can never have too many carbs when you’ve got a 20-miler ahead of you. And there are worse things than being under-trained and over-fueled. I’d rather have it that way than the opposite! Hope the run is going well!!

  4. At least you have a handsome Kole-man to keep you company!!! Also, I would like to point out that besides the icing and rolling, this is exactly what my Friday night looked like and I am NOT running 20 miles today…

    • Haha – Kole-man is a party animal. You don’t even know. I really have to work hard to convince him to have a low-key Friday night.

And who am I kidding…I just use the long run as my excuse to have nights like that :)

  5. Hope you have a great run!

  6. So very true! I am such a grandma that I really don’t mind those parts of the marathon training lifestyle ;)
Hope you feel okay during your run today, and don’t get blown away by those winds!! They are vicious over here.

    • Me neither. It’s a good excuse. :)

And I decided to push my run back a day — these awful winds and my sore bum are enough to convince me to take an extra day of rest. Good luck if you do your run today!

  7. When I first moved to NYC, people would ask me where I go out…I’m not a huge bar person to begin with, but I was like, “Welllll I have to run 20 miles tomorrow so I’m not going anywhere tonight, maybe tomorrow.” And then the next day I would be like, “I’m SOOOO TIRED I just want to lay on the couch.”

    I’m so cool.

  8. Love the look of the new website Lauren! Just so you know, I am seriously panicking over my 1/2 marathon – when I will be on the road 22 of the next 30 days! Even reading this blog is getting the old ticker worked up! Thanks for the birthday gift! UGH!!!!! Where are my carbs (dark chocolate)!???? Just found out the treadmill is NO substitute for outdoor running…..UGH again!

    • Thanks!! And all I can say is… “I love you…. (and you’re welcome)” :) Also, you’re amazing. Don’t panic. I have never seen you fail at anything you set your mind to…ever! So I know that even after a winter of less-than-ideal training, you’re going to do amazing. Plus, think about how hardcore you’ll feel after finishing the half in these conditions (right?? Keep saying it enough and you’ll surely start to believe it… ;) ).

And take heart in the fact that DC in March will be way cooler/less humid than Florida in Feb!

  9. Hey there! I’m so glad you found my blog because now I found yours! I love that all of us runners Friday nights look the same. At least we’re crazy together ;)

Thanks so much for your kind words; you’re too sweet.

  10. Your doggy has such a pretty coat!
